VOLVO 740, 760, 780
The picture above shows the first generation of the VOLVO 740/760 body style. Note the dual rectangular headlights at the front. This style was used from 1982 to 1987 on the 760 and up to 1989 on the 740.

The picture above shows the second generation of the VOLVO 740 and 760. Starting in 1988 on the 760, and in 1990 on the 740, the front end is equipped with european style headlights. The car shown above has a fog light located between the grill and the headlight. Other models have no fog lights and the headlight is a bit longer. This style of front end was carried on the 940/960 series up the 1995. The 740 and 760 have a different hood and front fenders. The hood of the 760 (as shown above) reaches up to the bottom of the windshield. On the 740 the hood stops before the windshield and a separate body panel, between the hood and windshield, covers the wiper mechanism and motor. VOLVO 740 SE 4 door 1991 of Sam
Yeh VOLVO 960, S90, V90
In 1995 the VOLVO 960 was updated with a more aerodynamic front end as shown above. The 940 1995 was not changed from the previous style and the production of the 940 stopped after 1995. The car shown above is a 1998 S90, wich is really a 960 with a different name. The wagon version of the 960 was renamed the V90. The S90 and V90 names were used for only one year, in 1998, wich is the last year of production of the 960 model. Note that the S90 and V90 are the last VOLVO produced with rear wheel drive.
