The steering pump on VOLVOs usually dont fail. If it is noisy check the fluid level. Make sure the belt is tight and not slipping. A slipping belt makes a loud hiiiiiii noise when cold and the steering is harder than normal. |

For a reason some plastic power steering reservoirs start leaking, usually at a hose connection. Clean up and make sure the leak is really from the reservoir. |

On 700 and 900 Series VOLVOs the label is on the driver door post. Replace tie rod end (1) or steering rod (2) if you have an excessive play in the steering wheel. On VOLVOs the tie rod ends (1) is a common replacement item. Change boot (3) if torned. |
