The VOLVO 120 was named the Amazon when introduced 1956. It was produced until 1970 in 2 door, 4 door and station wagon chassis style as shown in the production tables. The 122s and 123GT were imported to North America. They are very cute little cars and lots of fun to drive. The 1950s styling with all its roundness makes it roomy and the reliable and strong 4 cyl engine makes it economical. I still drive a 1968 122s 2 door at the time of this writing (2003) and find the car well adapted to modern day traffic ! It is simple to fix and parts are not too hard to find, at least easier than the 1800 or 544 produced at the same time. |
